Pictured in this photo is new chapter member Paul Klar from Broadus, MT. Paul is a taxidermist and has become involved with the USSA, (United Special Sportsman Alliance), This 501C3 Group is dedicated to assisting terminally ill youth across America as well as working with handicapped and dis-abled veterans. In the photo with Paul is Kalin Carter a Montana child suffering with lukemia. Paul guided this young hunter into this fine mule deer buck. It was a wish of Kalin’s to hunt deer and Paul and USSA have made his wish a reality. The Montana Chapter of SCI has committed to funding in part the activities of this group. With a commitment for funds from the Chapter we can now apply to Safari Club International for a like amount of matching funds to further the amount of assistance the chapter will be able to provide.
At the same time the Chapter Board approved funding for USSA we also approved funding for Russ Greenwood of Pumpkin Creek Outfitters in his project to assist dis-abled veterans who wish to hunt deer and antelope. Russ is equipped to handle wheel chair and other handicapped at his ranch West of Broadus Montana. Again the Chapter will be applying for matching grants to increase the amount of assistance we can provide for Russ in this humanitarian effort.
